In cooperation with the local schools, the students that have been selected based on established criteria are:Andrew Pierce, 11th Grade, Summit High SchoolArely Ortega, 11th Grade, Summit High SchoolCaitlin Francoisse, 11th Grade, Etiwanda High SchoolDaniel Chavez, 11th Grade, Etiwanda High SchoolLena Melgar, 11th Grade, Summit High SchoolMaria Rodriguez, 11th Grade, Summit High SchoolMariah Schnose, 11th Grade, Summit High SchoolMichael Johnson, 11th Grade, Etiwanda High SchoolThe Future Leaders of Tomorrow program is made up of area high school students. The members of this organization travel to local schools (K-12) in order to educate students about the Library and its mission. Moreover, these Future Leaders provide the students with opportunities to become involved in literacy and fundraising events. Specifically, students are given the chance to participate in Library fundraising events, participate in press conferences, promote literacy to residents of all ages, and help to raise the awareness of the teenage community about the wonderful benefits of the new library. The students who participate in the Future Leaders of Tomorrow acquire and/or hone their communication and decision-making skills and their leadership abilities. While developing these skills and abilities, the students become better citizens by working hard to better the community in which they live.The Future Leaders of Tomorrow program will be made up of area high school students.
