Donors make their mark

Miss Teen Fontana, Cesilee Cothran, puts her signature on the last steel beam to be placed in the construction of the Lewis Library and Technology Center at a topping-off ceremony in Fontana on Friday. Library donors signed their names to the last steel beam before it was placed on Fontana’s new library on Friday. The $60 million, 93,000-square-foot Lewis Library and Technology Center is set to open next year. It is the largest civic project in Fontana and will be the largest regional library in the San Bernardino County system. During the topping-off ceremony, people who donated more than $1,000 to the library project were invited to sign a steel beam that was used in the library’s construction.
